Three Questions to Ask Before Installing a Pool in Your Yard

Once you have designed the layout for your pool, this is when construction begins. However, if you have never built a pool before, you may have no idea what to expect. Thankfully, there is a fairly streamline process that takes place during construction, so you can easily understand what is going on and why things have to be done in this order. Here is what you can expect during pool construction.

Permitting and Engineering

After the design is approved, then your poo contractor will need to option the necessary permits to begin. While these can vary depending on where your property is, it is essentially approval from the city for the construction of your pool. Your pool contractor will also need to get permits to install the plumbing needed for the pool, so that it is done properly and so that current electrical, plumbing, telephone lines, etc., are not hit.

Layout & Excavation

The next step involves staking out the layout of the pool thoroughly, so that it is planned perfectly. Once the layout has been approved, this is when excavation can begin. This requires the removal of a great deal of dirt and other debris, and is done very carefully to ensure that the shape of your pool will be successfully achieved.

Structural Steel, Plumbing, Gunite, & Tile

When the dirt is gone, structural steel can then be placed to create the structure of your pool. Plumbing is then put in place to ensure that you will have all the water needs met for your pool. Gunite is then placed over the steel frame, which is a mixture of sand, rock, and cement. Plumbing for filtration systems will then be finished, and the interior of your pool will be tiled and coped. At this point additional features and landscaping can be added, but the basic structure of your amazing new pool is complete.
